Osmo - Polyx Color Oil

Osmo Polyx® Profi-Hardwax-Oil is a high quality, solvent-free Hardwax-Oil for the treatment of wood floorings, developed for professional parquet layers. Osmo Polyx Color Oil is suitable for all kinds of wooden floors (solid wood, planks or block strips) complying with DIN 18356 (German Industrial Norm).
Osmo Polyx® Profi-Hardwax-Oil creates a professional, clear surface which – depending on wood species and degree of sanding – can vary from satin-matt to satin. The satin-matt sheen can be increased by slight polishing. Grain and texture of the natural wood are accentuated which makes it look even more beautiful and valuable.
The unique and extremely easy to maintain Osmo Polyx® Profi-Hardwax-Oil surface is outstanding for its high wear resistance. Osmo Polyx Color Oil is water resistant and dirt repellent.
Stains can easily be removed without trace, and heavily used areas freshened up with our well-proven, brush applicable Osmo Hardwax-Oil, without visible repair marks.
The finished surface produced using Osmo Polyx Color Oil is resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water according to EN 12720 (former DIN 68861 - 1C).
Based on natural raw materials
Osmo Polyx® Profi-Hardwax-Oil is based on natural vegetable oils, waxes and resins. This unique combination penetrates into the wood surface keeping it elastic and healthy and preventing it from getting dry and brittle.
The micro-porous finish will not crack, flake, peel or blister, and therefore will not need sanding prior to renovation.
Osmo Polyx Color Oil Uses
Interior wood floorings. Suitable for all wood species. Dark hardwood floors like Meranti, Teak, Merbau or similar please degrease before application (Osmo Brush Cleaner, benzene-free). Trial application recommended.
For cork or OSB floorings this method of application is not suitable. For these materials we recommend using our Osmo HARDWAX-OIL 3032 (brush application).
Preparation
The wood surface must be clean and dry (maximum moisture content 20 %).
Clean or lightly sand old micro-porous finishes. Remove old varnishes by sanding. If required, sand the surface before application (grain 80-120), remove dust thoroughly.
Osmo Polyx Color Oil Application
Osmo Polyx® Profi-Hardwax-Oil is ready for use. Shake well before use. Apply – without base coat – directly on the clean, raw, dust-free wood with a scraper.
After one hour apply a second time with a scraper and polish afterwards evenly and thoroughly with a professional brushing machine and a white pad.
Take away any excess.
Hint: If the pad produces running marks because of surplus material, we recommend to clean the pad or to exchange it.
For profiled wood flooring or solid wood floor boards with bevelled edges we recommend to use brush discs.
