7" long by 1-3/4" wide body has 12° bed angle; machined and surface ground to half our normal flatness and surface finish specifications; sole and sides are flat and square to within +0.000" and -0.0015" over entire surface
Made from nickel-resist ductile iron (a corrosion-resistant material); contains about 20% nickel and retains all of the beneficial properties of regular ductile iron
Norris-type adjuster mechanism combines feed and lateral adjustments, making blade setting accurate and easy
Close manufacturing tolerances reduce backlash to no more than 1/4 turn
Adjuster is locked to body and will not become inadvertently unseated
Adjust mouth by loosening stainless-steel locking knob
Unobtrusive set screw in plane throat allows repeatable mouth positioning while preventing moveable toe from contacting blade
Toe is completely enclosed by body casting
A2 tool steel blade is 1-3/8" wide, 9/64" (0.140") thick and hardened to Rc60-62; blade has primary bevel of 23° and secondary bevel of 25°; back of blade is lapped flat within + or -0.0002" (two-tenths of a thousandth of an inch) in working area
